About 50% to 70% of mesothelioma occurrences are of the epithelioid mesothelioma type.

The main symptoms of pleural mesothelioma are:-

A persistent cough

Shortness of breath

Loss of weight

Pain in the lower back, or the side of the chest

Difficulty swallowing

Sweating and fevers

The main symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma are

Swelling in the abdomen

Feeling or being sick

Pain in the abdomen

Poor appetite 

Diarrhoea, or constipation

Loss of weight
