Asbestos liability lies squarely on the shoulders of the companies that knowingly allowed workers to be exposed to asbestos. Asbestos liability cases are one of the fastest growing type of lawsuit in recent history. Asbestos liability is also a very expensive venture. Corporations are losing lawsuits left and right and attorney's are collecting phenomenal fees for trying the cases. Victims normally only have to pay if the lawsuit is won. Since asbestos was so widely used beginning in 1920, and it can take over 40 years for someone to be diagnosed with a condition related to asbestos, the number of lawsuits is expected to rise.
