Asbestos lung cancer is a fatal form of cancer, which is often diagnosised in its final stages. Asbestos exposure is considered the leading cause of this form of cancer, which is also known as mesothelioma. The condition is known to be linked to those who have had exposure to asbestos in a work related environment, such as those who have worked in mines, mills and factories. It has also been linked to industries involving automotive repair, pipefitting, construction, boiler making, and those who worked in, installed, or otherwise handled asbestos related material in homes. Because of asbestos lung cancer's ability to go undetected in the body for as much as 50 years, it is highly difficult to treat and often fatal within the first year of diagnosis.
